RCIA / RCIC

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults and older children are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.

RCIA is a communal process and involves a number of stages throughout the year and at the Easter Vigil they will become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. The Church prefers to call this a process and not a program, as each participant is on their own journey in exploring the Catholic faith. As each individual’s journey moves along there is no obligation, they are intended to help a person decide whether they want to continue learning about the Faith. In the beginning participants are known as Inquirers. Once a participant is past the Inquiry stage and chooses to go
further, they become candidates.
Classes are held at our Catholic Education Center (home of Holy Cross School) in Webster from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Thursday evenings starting in the Fall. For more information, please visit the LNMV Religious Education website or contact Kathy Chlan.
